The Luxembourg Urban History Company was founded in 2013 as a nonprofit organization. . Sensitizing a large public to architecture as a historical fact of town building in Luxembourg is the core mission of the organization.
Guided tours of architecture in Luxembourg as well as in Esch-sur-Alzette are proposed in cooperation with the National Museum of History and Art / Musée 3 Eechelen. Special visits are granted upon request.
Experts may join these guided tours, which are also accessible to physically handicapped people. Guided, 90-minute walking tours or half-day discovery tours, as well as programs for day trips are proposed at these sites. Historians specializing in urban and postindustrial town history, architects, or city planners provide commentary during the tours.
As a platform of reflections and encounters, the Luxembourg Urban History Company organizes or takes part in lectures, public discussions, and learning programs and consults with students. Information about the preservation of private archives of building companies is another mission of the organization.
